Students of classes 1.b, 2.b and 3.b, together with teachers Gabrijela Terze, Silvija Kati\u0107, Tatjana Mato\u0161i\u0107 and Anita Perkov Kalebota, visited Nin and Zadar as part of a field trip for the subject History of Croatian Cultural Heritage.<\/p>\n

The first stop on the field trip was the town of Nin, where the students visited the Museum of Nin Antiquities, in which they saw a small but unique part of our cultural heritage.
After visiting the museum, the students toured the town and got better acquainted with its monuments. They were particularly impressed by the visit to the ancient remains of the forum and to the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, the smallest cathedral in the world. The students also saw the statue of Bishop Gregory of Nin, the work of the famous Croatian sculptor Ivan Me\u0161trovi\u0107.<\/p>\n

After Nin, the students, accompanied by their teachers, continued their journey towards Zadar, where they enjoyed a walk through the old town centre. In Zadar we visited numerous landmarks: the remains of the ancient forum, the Church of St Donatus, the Cathedral of St Anastasia and the People\u2019s Square (Narodni trg).
The students used their free time after sightseeing to have lunch, buy souvenirs, take photos and so on.
Everyone returned home full of impressions, enriched with new knowledge about the cultural heritage of Nin and Zadar.<\/p>\n

On 8 May we gathered in front of the school at 8:00 a.m. to spend the school day in an interactive and exciting way, combining nature and fresh air with getting to know two towns and their cultural heritage. The field trip began in the small town of Nin, located not far from Zadar. There we saw a smaller depiction of the sculpture of Gregory of Nin, which can also be found in Split and Vara\u017edin. After a short tour of the museum, our journey continued towards Zadar, where we took photos in front of the Church of St Donatus while listening to important historical stories. We experienced joyful moments listening to the Zadar Sea Organ and were delighted by the facts about its famous Greeting to the Sun. We quickly used up our free time with coffee and a walk in the sun, and in the evening we returned to Split. I think this kind of teaching is more interesting for all students and easier to remember, which is why I encourage it for the school\u2019s future.<\/em><\/p>\n
