In the town of Hvar, from 28 to 30 October 2012, the Fifth Review of Tourism Culture was held in the loggia of the Hotel Palace, under the sponsorship of the state administration office, on the topic “What heritage means to me”.
Over 80 schools entered the competition, of which 5 secondary and 5 primary schools from all over Croatia and the diaspora made the shortlist. We are proud that it was our school that won 1st place, with a project that, in the words of the expert jury (composed of Nansi Ivanišević, Anela Borčić, Duško Kovačić and Vinko Filipović), fully met the set standards, was the most complete in terms of how the given topic was handled, interesting, dynamic and, most importantly, usable in terms of tourist offerings.
The project, in whose creation several students participated, was presented by students of the 2nd and 3rd year of the tourism-hotel commercial specialist program: Marina Bobelj, Tina Perišić, Antonio Mikulić and Ivan Babić, accompanied by their mentor Andrea Bilandžić, a teacher of the tourism group of subjects.
By participating in the creation of this project, the students became aware of the beauty and wealth that our country offers, the importance of branding and creating recognizability, and the responsibility that lies with them to enrich that wealth, but also to preserve it for future generations.
That working on projects like this represents an invaluable experience is shown by their presentation, which ends very convincingly with the sentence: Believe that we will meet again – because WE ARE THE FUTURE OF CROATIAN TOURISM.
It is planned that the award-winning works will be published on Wikipedia in Croatian and English.
As part of presenting their project, the students displayed authentic local sweets, prepared by their schoolmate chefs and pastry chefs.
