Violence does not live here

These days, at our school, our long-time associate and lecturer, police officer Ante Radoja, gave the children a lecture on the prevention of peer violence and the suppression of addiction.

Unfortunately, we are witnessing devastating statistics, an increase in abused children who, out of fear of repeated peer violence, become silent victims. There are more and more students who, in fear of one or even a small group of bullies, become anxious and depressed, withdraw into their own world, and sometimes, out of sheer tension, refuse to go to school.

Our school regularly takes part in workshops created with the aim of developing a spirit of empathy and tolerance towards the disposition of each student. Guided by the principle of mutual understanding, communication and respect, we help students adopt positive patterns of behaviour.

Ultimately, students who are empowered by a positive view of themselves as empathetic individuals become a deterrent to violence themselves, thus contributing to the school’s standard of being free from violence.
