İstanbul Gastronomy Festival

İstanbul, the only city that connects two continents, has twice in history been the capital of great empires. As a meeting point of East and West, İstanbul is rightly called the most western city of the East and the most eastern city of the West. Considering the blending of different cuisines in this area, ranging from Indian, Persian and Arabic cuisine all the way to Mediterranean, it is no wonder that Turkish cuisine is considered the third richest cuisine in the world. This culinary wealth developed over the centuries, especially under the influence of Ottoman culture, which led to today’s modern Turkish cuisine.

This year too, for the tenth time, thousands of chefs from 22 countries will flock to İstanbul to cross cooking spoons at the jubilee gastronomy festival, Uluslararası İstanbul Mutfak Günleri, and choose the best among the best.

Among the competitors, alongside the already established colleagues of the Croatian culinary national team, for the first time there will also be 10 final-year students of the Wallner Private Secondary Hospitality School from Split, for whom this is yet another opportunity not only to become acquainted with the latest culinary techniques and to learn from the best in the world, but also to show their enviable skill at a top international competition.

One thing is certain: the best judges of the World Association of Chefs will be in a very difficult position from 15 to 18 March 2012: how to choose the best from among the best?

We wish our entire national team the best of luck and a successful harvest of medals!

İyi şanslar!
