The restaurant of the Olympia hotel in Vodice hosted young hoteliers, chefs and waiters from across the Dalmatian region, who competed at the Regional Gastro Competition 2013.
The competition, hosted by the Tourism and Hospitality School of Šibenik, was attended by a total of 62 competitors from 24 secondary schools in Dalmatia, among whom was Luka Vrdoljak, a student of the Wallner Private Secondary School.
Together with the students, mentors, judges, school principals, organizers and guests, more than 200 participants gathered in total at the Olympia. The students competed in eight disciplines; five hospitality ones: preparing a menu, serving a menu, preparing a cold savory display, preparing a cold sweet display and preparing bar mixes; and three tourism disciplines: hotel reception operations, travel agency operations and presenting a tourist destination.
