The most successful swimmer who has ever swum for Croatia – Sanja Jovanovic – also paid a short visit to our school.
Sanja is a former world record holder in the 25-meter pool in the 50 m backstroke and a winner of silver and bronze European medals in that event in the 50-meter pool.
Sanja heard wonderful stories about our school from her mentor, our physical education teacher Renata Pavic, and had to see this school that allows its student-athletes to balance their school and sports obligations, which was very difficult for her, as for most Croatian athletes, during secondary education. She is now a student at the Faculty of Kinesiology in Split, and thanks to her perseverance and great sacrifice, she did not neglect her education because of her sporting successes, which she wishes for and recommends to all our student-athletes, of whom there are more and more in our classrooms every year.
