AC Hotels by Marriott successfully debuted on the domestic market in July 2023. It is the first AC hotel from Marriott International’s portfolio to operate in Croatia, and it is located in Split’s Westgate Tower.
The Westgate Tower is the tallest skyscraper in Croatia at 135 meters, and its appearance is monumental, mainly because of its fully glass facade, which means that every hotel room has a view of the sea and a panorama of Split.
What it is like to work in such a hotel, and also what it is like to be a guest there, was explored by our students of class 2.b, organized and accompanied by teachers Nevena Vrljičak Biuk and Dijana Buljubašić, who visited the AC Marriott hotel as part of a field trip and learned about its operations.
At the hotel they were hosted by Zrinka Lolić, HR Manager, and Ante Ugrin, Front Office Manager, who acquainted them with the way of doing business and the activities involved in raising the quality of service delivery.
The hosts took them on a tour of the hotel, introduced them to the accommodation capacities and the key features of the conference hall.
They visited a room on the 26th floor of the hotel and enjoyed the panoramic view of the city.
During the tour, the students asked the hosts questions about the operations of the AC Marriott group and thus rounded out their knowledge of hotel operations, the hotel’s work processes, especially the work of the housekeeping and reception departments.
We thank our hosts for bringing the occupation our students are training for closer to them in a simple and understandable way.
