Students of class 2b, the Tourism, Hotel and Commercial Specialist programme, had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the importance of reading contracts under the law of obligations in order to be able to recognise whether such a contract is valid.
Attorney Srđan Kalebota, our guest lecturer, explained to them the concept of the law of obligations and, using several examples, explained why in everyday situations we should protect ourselves by signing contracts. He paid particular attention to reading every contract before signing it, because not every contract has to be valid, that is, some contracts may be declared null or voidable.
The students took part in the discussion and were happy to ask questions.
We are glad that in this way too we have shown our students that they must protect themselves with contracts, but also that they should pay close attention to the “fine print” written in a contract.
