About the programme
Through the waiter/waitress programme, students are trained to serve food and drinks in hospitality establishments and to prepare, maintain and arrange the establishment’s equipment. The work includes preparing table linen and tableware, arranging and setting tables, welcoming guests, taking orders, serving, clearing the table and preparing the bill.
The job description varies depending on the workplace and the services provided. In addition to restaurants and hotels, waiters are also employed in establishments that serve drinks, such as café bars, cocktail bars and nightclubs.
Curriculum
The general education component covers the Croatian language, a foreign language, physical and health education, history, and religious education/ethics.
The vocational and elective modules are distributed across three years:

Enrolment
The required documents are copies of the report cards for grades 7 and 8 and an occupational medicine medical certificate. Enrolment requires an interview with the student and their parents/guardians.
Tuition includes a work uniform, a sanitary card and sanitary check-ups, as well as student insurance.
