The hospitality technician programme (formerly known as tourism and hotel management agent) is a four-year programme that prepares students to organise and manage operations in hospitality and tourism establishments.

What a hospitality technician does
A hospitality technician organises work in the kitchen and restaurant, plans stock, procurement and the receipt of supplies, and oversees the storage and preservation of foodstuffs. They compose daily menus and arrange and organise receptions, banquets and formal lunches and dinners.
In addition, they take care of the restaurant’s presentation, manage reservations and the sale of hospitality and tourism services, and oversee the operations and financial management of the establishment.
The programme of study
The programme lasts four years and combines general education subjects (Croatian language, a foreign language, mathematics, physical and health education, history, geography, religious education/ethics) with vocational modules that build on one another across the years.
Vocational modules by year
- Year 1: occupational safety, communication skills, hygiene and ecology, organisation of work in hospitality, food processing methods, fundamental hospitality skills.
- Year 2: service-floor operations, serving skills, applied computing in hospitality, culinary skills, communication in a foreign language, and three elective modules (e.g. the story of coffee, sales and presentation skills).
- Year 3: people and health, entrepreneurship and sales in hospitality, front-office operations, business communication in a foreign language, housekeeping operations in an accommodation establishment, and two elective modules (e.g. e-business, creating digital content).
- Year 4: tourism operations, communication in an international environment, contemporary tourism, organisational psychology, tourism legislation, financial operations, control and analysis of operations, an entrepreneurial venture, and one elective module (e.g. mixology, gastronomy trends, fundamentals of pastry making).

Enrolment
Enrolment requires copies of the report cards for grades 7 and 8 and a medical certificate from the school doctor. Enrolment requires an interview with the student and their parents or guardians.
Tuition fee
- In instalments: EUR 6,000.00 over 12 months.
- Single payment or two instalments: EUR 5,800.00.
